Breaking: Lassa Fever kills 3 in Imo State.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo said on Wednesday three people had passed on of Lassa fever while seven others were hospitalized.

Okorocha told writers in Owerri that the illness was found in one of the doctor's facilities in Orlu Local Government region of the state.

He communicated profound stress over the sickness and the advised subjects against unhygienic propensities and body contact.

"Today, we woke up to get notification from important offices that Lassa fever has killed three individuals while seven others are hospitalized.

"This number is too huge for a state and we are exceptionally worried over the speed of spread of the sickness in Orlu and different parts of the state.

"You know that the significant reason for this infection is a specific sort of rodent and we should take sufficient measures to prevent rats from having direct contact with consumable products.

"The state Ministry of Health has been legitimately educated and coordinated to do everything conceivable to deal with the circumstance," he said.

The representative said if the spread of the malady proceeded with, the administration may boycott open capacities and mobilizes to spare lives.

He said the recognized healing centers had been secluded while the patients had been isolated for a particular time keeping in mind the end goal to deal with the circumstance.

Okorocha said he had arranged for the help of Federal Government on the issue through the Ministry of Finance and guaranteed that the issue would be over soon.
